After graduating from the UVA, she worked in art education and then—for more than twenty years—as an art journalist for, among others, the Volkskrant. She also served as a curator and moderator for contemporary art. In 2018, she left journalism and began writing fiction, in which art often still plays a role. Her debut novel, Niets is gelogen, was published in 2019, followed by Luister (2023) and the short story collection De lotgevallen (2024). She is currently working on her fourth book and is frequently heard as a radio host on Kunststof (NPO 1 radio).
